ARTICLE OF THE YEAR AWARD FOR VOLUME 50 OF AEHJ The Article of the Year Award for the Golden Anniversary edition is conferred on Ziang Wang and J ames W. Thomas for their stellar historiography, "Chinese and American Educational Partnerships: Civil War through 1885." Taylor Masamistu traces the emergence, success, and eventual widespread influence of Florida's House Bill 1557 using a socio-historical lens in the third entry, "Florida's House Bill 1557: The third entry by Danielle Carrier, "Navigating Paradox and Power in the Nation's Capital: The John f. Cook Family and Elite Black Leadership in the District's Segregated Schools" investigates the history of a predominantly elite Black District of Columbia public school community's social-cultural history related to power, race, and class and their influence on closing the community's school.
