Zusammenfassung:— The results of karyological study of a peripheral isolated Scots pine ( Pinus sylvestris L.) population of growing in the Shirinskaya steppe of Khakassia are presented. In the seed progeny of trees, disorders of the chromosome number (myxoploidy) and a wide range of chromosomal rearrangements, including unique multiple aberrations, were detected. The highest possible frequency of genomic and chromosomal rearrangements for this species was diagnosed for the first time at the population level. In fact, all seed progeny of the Karysh Scots pine population is mutant, which indicates possible adaptive changes in the genotypes under conditions of isolation.
