Policy Orientation, Realistic Issues, and Countermeasures for the Construction of Urban Sports Facilities in China

Using research methods such as literature review and interviews, this study examines the policy orientation, current status, and existing issues in the construction of urban sports facilities in China.During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the urban sports facility construction policy in China will be oriented by the concept of green and convenient construction. Meanwhile, non-sports land construction as supplementary manner will dominate construction means. Construction planning will be submissive to overall local projects.Currently, problems existing at the level of planning and layout include structural imbalances, insufficient economic benefits from compatible construction on non-sports land, a single distribution mechanism for financial assistance, delays in construction, and an inadequate implementation mechanism.To address these problems, the following measures are proposed: innovate in land planning, site selection, and construction methods; remove obstacles to compatible construction by using non-spo
