Zusammenfassung:Lightweight aggregate concrete (LWAC) is very useful, as it substantially reduces the dead load of a structure. It has an extensive range of applications and can be highly beneficial in seismically active areas. But it has higher brittleness in comparison to normal weight concrete. So, it may not provide sufficient warning before failure. Addition of fibres into light weight aggregates improves the ductility of resulting concrete. Inclusion of fibres generally improves the ductility and other engineering properties of concrete. Most commonly steel fibres are added to lightweight aggregate concrete for this purpose. The compressive strength and flexural strength of concrete is enhanced by addition of Graphene oxide. Through a critical review of literatures, it can be deduced that by including fibres and Graphene oxide in lightweight aggregate concrete, the ductility and strength can be sufficiently improved so that it can be well utilized.
