Zusammenfassung: | IntroductionHepatic epithelioid haemangioendothelioma (HEHE) is a rare vascular tumour affecting multiple sites, including the liver (incidence estimated 1 in 1 000 000). Although it is an accepted indication for liver transplantation, there is limited evidence to inform management consensus. This case series evaluates outcomes in HEHE, comparing conservative treatment with surgical resection and liver transplantation, in order to inform understanding of the natural history of this rare tumour.MethodsThe liver unit database was searched for all patients with a diagnosis of HEHE, including patients referred to the regional hepatobiliary MDT.Electronic patient records were retrospectively reviewed to record patient demographics (sex, age at diagnosis), tumour details (size, number of lesions, presence of extrahepatic spread), management and time to last follow up or death.Data were processed using Microsoft Excel and GraphPad Prism. Survival was assessed by log rank (Mantel Cox) test. P values |
