Zusammenfassung:Water is precious to life. But nowadays the water contains lot of contaminants due to increase in the area of urbanization, industrialization and agricultural practice which cause hazardous pollutants to the ecosystem. Nanotechnology plays an important role in the rising of science and development. The main feature of nanoparticles is surface to volume ratio. Due to this property materials are further classified into three parts for the treatment of wastewater that are nanoadsorbent, nanocatalyst and nanomembranes. There is lot of methods for the treatment of wastewater but out of all the treatments, nanocatalyst i.e. photocatalysis. Photocatalysis is used for the wastewater treatment due to its ability for the removal of contaminants present in water with zero discharge and no chemical additions are used and results in the complete mineralization of organic pollutants into harmless inorganic compounds.
