Zusammenfassung:In this paper a three-stage closed system fuzzy network Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is employed to assess the competency of reinsurers (both Indian and Foreign branch) functioning in India by disintegrating the complex service process into three sub-processes. The production, investment, and effectiveness frameworks are appraised in three stages. The output of the first stage is considered as the input for the second stage, and the output of the second stage is an input for the third stage. The fuzzy DEA findings reveal the individual efficiency score of production, investment, and the effectiveness sub-processes of each Decision-Making Unit (DMUs), which also ascertains the results of conventional DEA for all three stages. The data for this study has been taken from the Indian Insurance Regulator (IRDAI), spanning three years from FY 2017–2020.
