Zusammenfassung:The purpose of the work is to study the state of artificial forest cenoses in the conditions of the city of Stavropol. The novelty consists in obtaining new data on the nature of the course of successional processes in artificial forest communities, assessing the decorativeness of the created formations. In view of the above, the assessment of the created forest formations is relevant. The object of the study are the 1960-70s created on the territory of the Stavropol Botanical Garden. 20th century artificial expositions of the most characteristic types of forest vegetation of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic and the Stavropol Territory: beech forest, pine forest, birch forest, dark coniferous (fir-spruce) and oak-ash forest. As a result of the work, the species composition, sanitary and aesthetic state of plants growing in artificial forest formations were determined. The population dynamics, height and other taxation indicators of the main rocks of the formations have been established. The main conclusion of the work is that tree species, the geography of natural growth of which is closest to the conditions of the experimental site, have the greatest vitality and, accordingly, decorative effect.
