Zusammenfassung: | This study aims to investigate the potentials, the factors and problems of rural single mothers to involve in entrepreneurship. The study also identifies the individual and environmental factors that influence the willingness of rural single mothers to involve in entrepreneurship. The quantitative methods have been employed as a research design. This study was conducted in the state of Terengganu. Research respondents consist of 265 single mothers whose are registered under the Terengganu Single Mothers Club. Research data is obtained via questionnaires instrument which then analyzed using descriptive statistics included frequencies, percentages and means. The study outcome found that the potential of rural single mothers to involve in entrepreneurship are high. Few problems that hinder their involvement have been identified and the main problems are related to capitals, loans, business location, advisory services, knowledge and transportation. The findings also indicated that individual factors and environmental factors influenced the desired of rural single mother to get engaged in entrepreneurship. The findings of this study henceforth was utilized to develop a new model of entrepreneur development of single mothers to help the government formulate policies and strategy to channel aids according to the needs of this group for increase their standard of living. This study hopefully can help open a wide road for single mother to get involved in entrepreneurships with more active and thus can improve their living standards and economy. |
