Zusammenfassung: | Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is becoming increasingly prevalent in the general population with multiple known metabolic risk factors. There is limited evidence on the impact of age on the prevalence of hepatic steatosis and fibrosis, and their relationship to cardiometabolic risk factors. To this end, we recruited 761 patients 35-75 years of age, with and without T2DM, who underwent screening for NAFLD with laboratory tests and imaging by elastography (steatosis by controlled attenuation parameter [CAP]; fibrosis by liver stiffness measurement [LSM]). Patients were divided into 3 age groups: |
