Zusammenfassung:Deli Serdang regency has a wide region 2.497,72 km2, and becomes part of Medan, Binjai, Deli Serdang, and Karo area. It also became an industry area and merchandising. One of the small industries in the area produces coconut shell charcoal. Coconut shell charcoal is a product that results from imperfect combustion, and it’s better than roasted wood. The objective of this study is to increase coconut shell charcoal productivity by being effective and efficient. It also reduces ash emission in the environment. The method used by reconstructing the combustion chamber and chimney. The data compared between before and after reconstructing the burner and chimney. The result shows that the improvement of coconut shell production and ash emission after reconstructing increased 28.57% and the emission was environmentally friendly. Based on the result, the conclusion of this research states that combustion chamber and chimney design used is effective to be implemented.
