Zusammenfassung:Human saliva contains many biological features related to both host and bacterial flora. [...]these factors jeopardize the trust in artificial saliva. [...]it investigated the strength of the suture materials most commonly used in oral surgery by the thermal aging technique. 2.MATERIALS AND METHODS The study was designed to measure the change in the strength of silk, poly(glycolide-co-lactide) (PGLA)-, and poly(glycolide-co-caprolactone) (PGCL)-based sutures aged by the thermal cycle, and kept in artificial or human saliva. Sample size calculation was made using the Sigmaplot 14 software, based on the results of another research study [5], giving a number of 11, which we raised to 20 for every group, to atone for potential errors.
