Zusammenfassung:The editor's vision for this Special Issue was to bring together diverse authorship teams that had not previously collaborated (much), led by colleagues who are based in or originate from Europe and who have made significant contributions to the field despite being relatively junior. They hoped to foster new collaborations that could spark novel insights in both authors and readers. Greene et al. (2023) present an overview of the ethical challenges that misinformation brings with it. Jylhä et al. (2023) wrestle with the question of why people often deny even crystal-clear evidence, and how such denial is associated with a deep-seated distrust of science and the scientific method. Schmid et al. (2023) address the issue of health misinformation, taking a planetary health perspective that defines environmental issues such as climate change as human health issues. Zmigrod et al.’s (2023) contribution focuses on political misinformation and introduces a Bayesian framework of misinformation receptivity. Roozenbeek et al. (2023) concentrate on the intervention side of things, evaluating various treatments designed to reduce misinformation impact at the level of the individual. Finally, Kozyreva et al. (2023) conceptualize misinformation as a policy problem, given its potential to negatively affect public debate and democracy. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2023 APA, all rights reserved)
