Work in progress-developing trade information system for reducing dwelling time in Boom Baru port, Palembang

The length of time for loading and unloading containers at the port has become the focus of many elements because it is closely related to the acceleration of goods export/import services at the port, Indonesia being one of the countries with the highest dwelling time. The current acceleration of spending on goods is influenced by the loading and unloading process in the field and the document and payment processes. Most of the international trade activities in South Sumatra are carried out through the Boom Baru port of Palembang, located on the Musi River with approximately 108 km from the river mouth to the upstream. Service users’ service quality is to develop technology-based services and billing system applications created focusing on serving imported goods transactions online to accelerate the flow of filling and receipt of import issuance documents DO (delivery order) and speed up the flow of payments. As is known, improvements in Pre Clearance and improvements in Dwelling Time affect the Trading across border indicator and contribute positively to the improvement in the ease of doing business in Indonesia. By analyzing the origin and destination matrix of goods with the visa program then inputting data for the information system, in the form of data on types of export materials, destination countries, processing time and transport data, export trips for all commodities, container flows, dwelling time, time for each inspection line and length of time. In this paper, with an analytical approach, Visum will explain how to obtain and process input data for information systems, in the form of types of export materials and destination countries, the length of time, then find out and analyze the distribution of the movement of export goods originating from the port of Boom Baru Palembang and its construction. The information system will fix the problem of dwelling time and waiting time at the port of Boom Baru Palembang.
