A web-based booking system on freight movement (truck)

The transport sector affects the fluctuation rate of productivity in one area. The transportation’s high cost and infrastructure condition have placed Indonesia’s logistic performance on the 46th rank out of 160 countries. One of the causes is the low utilization rate of the truck in Indonesia, which has been triggered by the uncertainty and the unequal distribution of demand of sending commodity which has made the truck service provider face the continued risk and the lack of capacity, which affects to the operational cost and the sending period. This paper will develop the web-based innovation booking system in ordering the truck to sort the algorithm insertion. Applying the insertion sort of the algorithm will minimalize the waiting time and loading/unloading, which can occur in the delivery process. The result of developing the web-based information system will simplify the customer or shipper in doing or tracking the order of the truck.
