Zusammenfassung: | This research comprises experimental work to emulate some mechanical characteristics and the weight loss of Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC) specimens under seawater and sulfuric acid rain. Based on the curing methods used in this research, the specimens were prepared and divided into three groups. The first group was cured with regular tap water and considered the reference specimens. The curing for the second group was done by a saline water medium, while the sulfuric acidic medium has used for curing the third group. The saline water medium achieves by dissolving NaCl in regular tap water. The acid medium contains H₂ SO₄ also dissolved in water again from a tap. The results showed that the effect of saltwater on RPC specimens was less than the effect of sulfuric acid concerning mechanical characteristics. The peak influence of acid curing popped at the average reading of flexural strength of specimens among studied characteristics, reducing by 19.80% than what happened in the reference specimens. Additionally, the RPC is considered good resistant to weight loss for saltwater compared to acids, resulting in a loss in specimen weight of 1.85% and 0.45% under sulfuric and saltwater acid curing compared to the reference condition. |
