DIN PERSPECTIVA DELR. ETIMOANE LATINEȘTI CONTAMINATE MOȘTENITE ÎN LIMBA ROMÂNĂ

The present article is an overview of involuntary Latin lexical blends inherited into Romanian, based on several examples from DELR (A–D letters), further checked against Romanian and Romance lexicology /etymological and lexicographic works. After a short state-of-the-art review and a definition of the phenomenon, some examples of such lexical blends are discussed, with an emphasis on the formal, semantic and chronological difficulties that led the DELR authors to accept or reject a certain etymological solution.
