Zusammenfassung: | This study examines the mediating effect of coping strategies in the association between social participation, social support and self-rated health among older adults. A sample of 9233 Chinese older adults (Mean Age = 69.61 years, SD = 7.27) is obtained from the China Longitudinal Aging Social Survey in 2016 through a stratified multi-stage probability sampling. Stata 15/SE is used for data analysis. Results show that among older adults, coping strategies partially mediate the association between social participation and self-rated health, and fully mediate the relationship between social support and self-rated health. Findings contribute to existing knowledge and provide practical implications for social policy and intervention programs to enhance self-rated health of older adults in a Chinese social context. |
