Zusammenfassung:This research aimed to describe the profile of elementary school students’ communication skills in child-friendly mathematics learning, especially in aspects of 1) the delivery of ideas; 2) analyzing information, and 3) communicating the results of the analysis. This was an ethnographic qualitative research conducted at a private elementary school in Surakarta. Data were collected using participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Data were validated using triangulation of sources and time. Data were analyzed by using reciprocal data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and withdrawal of conclusions. The results showed that students’ communication skills in child-friendly math learning can be grouped into three. 1) The delivery of ideas related to conveying known knowledge was good. 2) Analyzing information related to critical and logical communication skills and good and correct use of language still needs to be cultivated. 3) Communicating the results of analysis related to determining the results of decisions and interactions with others still needs to be improved.
