Income analysis of domestic chicken breeder (case study of company X) in Soppeng regency, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia

The productivity of domestic chickens is still low and the maintenance system tends to be traditional so steps are needed to increase efficiency in domestic chicken farms to obtain profitable income. This study aimed to determine the income of domestic chickens#x2019; business in Soppeng Regency, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. This research was carried out from April to May 2021, on domestic chicken business X in Lapajung Village, Lalabata District, Soppeng Regency. The research method used was a case study method with a descriptive quantitative approach. Sources of data were primary data and secondary data. The types of data were quantitative data and qualitative data. The data were analyzed descriptively statistically. The result showed that the income obtained from domestic chicken business X in Lapajung Village, Lalabata District, Soppeng Regency was 140,239,038 IDR/period. This result indicated that the domestic chicken business suffered losses due to high chicken mortality, high maintenance costs and inappropriate marketing strategies (long sales time).
