Zusammenfassung:Disposal of organic waste that is carried out continuously certainly has a very large adverse effect on humans and the environment. Shifting the paradigm of conventional agricultural to sustainable agricultural, if the waste is managed properly, it can be one alternative for producing organic fertilizer as a nutrient supply agent to improve national food security. This paper aimed to determine the source and the amount of waste that has not been utilized optimally yet as raw material for making organic fertilizers. This research was conducted on September 11, 2021, using observation and weighting methods. The results of this study were the organic waste obtained from three sampling sites were from 2 traditional Baruga and Mandonga markets, 2 fruit Konda and Kadia markets, and 2 temporary Anduonohu and Padeleu disposal household organic waste. The weight of organic waste in the Baruga market was 16,760 kg day−1 and the Mandonga market was 14,660 kg day−1, while organic waste from the fruit market in the Konda sub-district was 24 kg day−1 and from Kadia sub-district was 2,095 kg day−1. The organic waste from temporary households in Anduonohu village was 8380 kg day-1 and in Padaleu village was 10,470 kg day−1. It is concluded that the most abundant waste came from the traditional markets. By cultivating these organic wastes, the organic fertilizers could be produced with less cost for maintaining food production and food security.
