Zusammenfassung:Waste material is identified as one of the main problems in the construction industry because of its direct impact on the environment and the efficiency of the construction industry. Design validation based on Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an effective way to reduce construction waste material and can simulate all the information contained in a building project. The purpose of this study was to determine the percentage ratio of the volume and weight of the material produced through the BIM methods Autodesk Revit and conventional. In addition, this study aims to determine the biggest factor causing material waste in project X. The method used is the survey method, with purposive random sampling technique and descriptive analysis approach to determine the biggest factor causing material waste. The BIM method is used to calculate the quantity of waste material using Autodesk Revit and 1D Cutting Optimizer software. The result showed that the planning using Autodesk Revit BIM in calculating the volume and weight of the material was smaller in 10.19% reinforcement work and 6.19% in concrete than the conventional method. While in formwork, the BIM method gives a greater value of 4.76% than the conventional method. The biggest factor causing material waste is “Design Changes” with an average value of 4.82. This research contributes significantly to the world of construction, it is hoped that future research on waste material for architectural components will be carried out.
