Zusammenfassung:Two new diastereoisomeric phenolic compounds ( 1 , 2 ) have been isolated from the methanol extract of Polygonatum cyrtonema Hua leaves. Their structures were elucidated as (1S,2R) and (1S,2S)-1-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-1-ethoxypropan-2-ols by spectroscopic data ( 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, HSQC, HMBC, HR-ESI-MS, and ORD). In addition, compounds 1 and 2 displayed potential aldose reductase inhibitory activities with IC 50 values of 29.05 and 22.38 μM, respectively.
