Zusammenfassung: | Single crystal of Ethylene Diamine Tetra Acetic acid (EDTA) doped Cu-Zn (Cupric Sulphate+Zinc Chloride) crystal has been grown by slow evaporation solution technique by using water as a solvent at room temperature. EDTA is widely used in industry, foodstuffs, pharmacy, medicine and also used as a chelate to synthesize superconductors samples. Good quality single crystals were harvested within a week. The crystallinity arrangement of EDTA doped Cu-Zn crystals were established by using powder XRD analysis, and frequency assignments of various internal modes of vibrations for the functional groups were observed in the FTIR spectroscopy. The mechanical behaviour was analysed using the Vickers microhardness test. Using Wooster’s empirical relation the elastic stiffness constant (C11) was calculated from the Vickers hardness values at different loads. Dielectric and electrical conductivity(σ) of the crystal were studied as a function of frequency and results are estimated. |
