Zusammenfassung: | This study investigates the role of women in sustainable agriculture practices adoption. This study employed correctional data from 150 farmers in East Java Indonesia, and it was analysed by an ordered probit model. The farmers have used five sustainable practices, including organic fertilizer, bio-pesticide, crop rotation, and agroforestry adoption. The main finding indicated that woman’s participation in agricultural practices significantly improved both organic fertilizer and bio-pesticide adoption, however, it does not significantly affect agroforestry adoption. this is confirmed that women are more likely to be aware of agricultural sustainability. On the other hand, we also find that the farmer’s cultivated are, land status and participation in farmer group significantly affected farmers’ decision to adopt sustainable agriculture practices. Therefore, we suggested that the role of women in agricultural activity should be improved. The government can improve woman’s intention to participate in agricultural sectors. |
