Zusammenfassung: | An obituary for longtime NYSTA member Lynn Starling, who died in 2023, is presented. Starling sang with both the Metropolitan Opera and New York City Opera. In the latter's production of The Ballad of Baby Doe in the late 1950's, with Beverly Sills as Baby Doe Tabor, she played the role of Silver Dollar. She taught folk guitar during the 1960s, which led to a book, "Teaching Guitar to Children," published by Warner Brothers. During the 1970's she became a teacher and coach to musical theater actors and dancers. Her students were featured in roles in Broadway musicals that included The Lion King, Oliver, Chicago, 42nd Street, Cats, A Chorus Line, Annie, and Gypsy.
