Zusammenfassung: | Pre-service Science teachers (PST) must have the ability to design and make practical tools from simple materials. The purpose of this study is to describe the perspective of PST on the difficulties in designing and making simple science practicum tools from home and the usefulness for the academic community. The study was conducted according to a "case study" design. The research study group consisted of 108 PST in the Even Semester 2019/2020. Data collection was carried out using an assessment instrument consisting of 7 criteria, including (1) theoretical suitability; (2) tool resistance; (3) the accuracy of the measuring instrument; (4) efficient use of tools; (5) tool safety; (6) aesthetics; (7) availability of tools and materials. The researcher also used the "semi-structured interview form" to reveal how to make simple science practicum tools. The study results show that there are several difficulties by PST, including determining ideas, the accuracy of the results of the practicum with the theory, practical tools that have been designed cannot last long. The usefulness of these tools to the community is limited to the provision of learning media creations of simple science practicum tools as alternative learning media. |
