A study on mechanical properties of heat treated Fe-Ag-Al alloys
This study focuses on the behaviour of aluminium alloy when subjected to a variety of heat treatment procedures and parameters. The two types of heat treatment used in the study were solubility and ageing. The solution was heat-treated for 0.85, 1.7, 2.3, and 3.5 hours. Temperatures of 500°C, 700°C,...

Zusammenfassung: | This study focuses on the behaviour of aluminium alloy when subjected to a variety of heat treatment procedures and parameters. The two types of heat treatment used in the study were solubility and ageing. The solution was heat-treated for 0.85, 1.7, 2.3, and 3.5 hours. Temperatures of 500°C, 700°C, and 900°C were employed in the ageing process, with 5-and 6-hour intervals. Solubility resulted in microstructural homogenization as the dendritic structure was ended and the other micro-components dissolved into a single-phase structure. Because the eutectoid phase transitioned martensite and other micro components, beta ageing was retained and eventually developed into martensite. After dissolving for four hours at 1000°C under alloy guidance, the soluble samples were maintained at 700°C for three hours to guarantee maximum hardness in the average age of the samples, which were subsequently cooled down to 700°C. Heat treatment has been proven in studies to have a considerable impact on the microstructure and mechanical properties of samples. |
