Zusammenfassung: | Oxides containing only one metallic component as well as mixed oxides with several cations may form during oxidation of multicomponent alloys. It is demonstrated that regardless of an intricacy of a particular situation, there exists a simple, general, practical, and elegant expression for Pilling–Bedworth ratio underpinned by a realistic assumption. Limits of formula’s applicability are delineated. |
