Zusammenfassung: | This study discusses the static evaluation of the Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs) beam using the Timoshenko Hencky Beam (THB) element. Roller-pin (simple supported) and cantilever beams with several variations of L/h are evaluated to understand the convergence behavior of THB element in FGMs structures. Moreover, for each problem, variations of the power-law exponent are employed. The THB element can only be applied to thick beams problems. When applied for thin beams, the phenomenon of shear locking presents. In this study, the phenomenon is proven. In addition, to get the results close to the reference solution, the THB element needs a large number of elements. |
