Zusammenfassung: | Due to its excellent physical, mechanical, and tribological properties, aluminium metal matrix (AMC) is used inthe automotive, aerospace, and marine sectors. Compared with unreinforced alloy, AMCs have benefits like increased strength, wear resistance, and considerable lowering in weight. In this study, aluminium 6061 was reinforced with bagasse ash composite prepared using the stir casting route method. Dry sliding wear test of composite is performed ona pin on disc machine. The Parameters which affect wear rate are percentage reinforcement, sliding velocity, sliding distance, and applied load. Regression modeling was developed using the response surface method (RSM). Wear of AMC and validation of the model is done by Analysis of variance (ANOVA). The experimental results found that the wear rate is lower in the composite than in the unreinforced alloy. The RSM technique was found effective, and the regression equation developed to consist of R2 equal to 98.24 %, which proves the acceptability of the present model. |
