Zusammenfassung:The goal of the study is to do the following: 1) identify the variables that contribute to the emergence of unlicensed gold miners (Gurandil), 2) analyze the level of environmental damage caused by unlawful gold mining (UGoM), and 3) assess the socioeconomic impact of unlicensed gold mining. In this study, ethnomethodology's qualitative methods and research approaches are used. The investigation was done in June 2021 at a mining site in South Citorek, which is in the Cibeber Subdistrict of the Lebak Regency. In the analysis phase of qualitative research, there are four different things that are done: collecting data, coming up with a problem, filtering the data, and coming to a conclusion. According to the findings, illegal gold mining has a significant impact on ecosystems, causing issues such as air pollution, a decline in the quality of rivers in the Cimari region, the conversion of forests, river siltation, the formation of large holes, soil abrasion, and the loss of Rasamala and Resin cropland.
