Zusammenfassung:The development of production technology and metal raw materials cannot be separated from the welding technology. The welding process used is welding on steel plates. Steel plates are commonly used in industry. SMAW is used because it is easy to use and efficient. The desired performance in steel plate welding is the tensile strength of the steel plate welded joint. The process is affected by parameters/variables, such as the electric current and the distance or root gap. A robust parameter design is used to get the best results and find the best parameter settings. This parameter design considers the uncertainty factors, unlike conventional planning that only focuses on nominal quantities. In robust parameter design, a product/process will be designed to be strong and resistant to the influence of uncertainty factors (noise factor). Response surface method (RSM) is used in this study because it can make optimization more efficient.
