Zusammenfassung:This research is aimed to simplify the pinostrobin isolation process from Boesenbergia pandurata (Roxb) rhizome. Boesenbergia pandurata (Roxb) rhizome is a class of flavonoid compounds containing many properties that are good for the human body. The rhizome is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, anti-tumor, antiviral, anti-aging, anti-obesity, and antioxidant, and may act as an analgesic, antiseptic, or insecticide. The isolation method used is recrystallization with hot n-hexane maceration process. The crystals obtained were recrystallized until white crystals are formed. The crystals were tested by TLC and FTIR. The result of TLC is n-hexane and ethyl acetate with a ratio of 9:1. It shows a purple spot on 254nm under a UV lamp with a 0.81 Rf value. Based on the results of TLC and FTIR tests, the recrystallized white crystals were pinostrobin.
