Zusammenfassung: | Iron loaded sewage sludge (SS-Fe) adsorbent was prepared and utilized in the adsorption of two kinds of contaminants, butyl xanthate and Sb(V). Adsorption isotherms and kinetics were conducted and compared for the adsorption of butyl xanthate and Sb(V) to reveal the adsorption characteristics of SS-Fe for different kinds of pollutants. Langmuir model was preferable to describe the adsorption of both butyl xanthate and Sb(V). The butyl xanthate or Sb(V) was adsorbed onto SS-Fe in monolayer coverage. An increase of the temperature was conducive to the adsorption of butyl xanthate or Sb(V). Different adsorption kinetics were presented for the adsorption of butyl xanthate or Sb(V), resulted from the variations of properties and the specific adsorption site. Furthermore, the reusability and regeneration of the prepared SS-Fe adsorbent was assessed via cyclic tests. The excellent adsorption performance and reusability were attribute to the porous structure and surface functional groups during the circulating immersion & thermal treatment process of sewage sludge. SS-Fe was promising to be an efficient adsorbent in the removal of both organic and heavy metal pollutants with application potential. |
