Manufacture of Lightweight Stamped Ball Plugs with Surface Hardening

The decrease in mass of ball plugs when manufactured by stamping is studied experimentally. A new design is proposed: two tubular workpieces with an internal junction. A manufacturing technology is discussed, and methods of surface hardening are considered.
