Smart home apps for saving energy usage at griyapram guesthouse malang

The electricity needs for hospitality reach almost one-third of the national electricity production. Griyapram Guesthouse is a kind of hospitality that provides accommodation for families in Malang city. As a role of awareness of energy conservation and energy saving in electrical, this guesthouse implements the sustainable system to its design. But, the goal of sustainable building is not obtained maximally without the awareness of the occupants. Based on observations, the problems among guesthouse residents often neglect to conserve and save electrical energy. This research will discuss how to select and apply smart home technology at the Griyapram guesthouse. Collecting the data was done through literature study, observation, and experiment. Based on the study results, this guesthouse implements LED lights for reducing cost expenses and implementing energy-saving. This building also applies a smart home concept based on IoT with an automation feature. This feature aims to anticipate user behavior who are less concerned with energy conservation and energy saving.
