Zusammenfassung:The influence of potassium (K) doping on the magnetic and magnetocaloric effect of the perovskite-type manganese oxides La 0.6 Sr 0.4− x K x MnO 3 in low magnetic field has been investigated. Our work shows that the maximum magnetization and the Curie temperature of La 0.6 Sr 0.4− x K x MnO 3 ( x  = 0.10, 0.15, 0.20) decrease with increasing K content. Using Hamad’s phenomenological model, we have estimated the important magnetocaloric properties such as the magnetic entropy change and the relative cooling power. Tunable Curie temperature and considerable magnetocaloric properties of these manganese oxides are advantageous for applications in sub-room and near-room temperature magnetic refrigeration.
