Zusammenfassung:Critical thinking ability is ability to use strategy, analyze, and collect the information based on evidence to make a conclusion. This research is aimed to find out student's critical thinking ability based on impulsive cognitive style on the two-variable system of linear equations in SMPN 2 Kudus. The samples in this research were two students. This research was qualitative research. Instrument that used was researcher itself as main instrument. Besides, it used Matching Familiar Figure Test and critical thinking ability's test. The finding of the research showed that student's critical thinking ability with impulsive cognitive style on the two-variable system of linear equations had the fairly good critical level. The students only fulfilled two of four critical thinking ability indicators, which is problem interpretation and constructing an alternative problem solving.
