Zusammenfassung:A new species from the spider genus Philoponella Mello-Leitão 1917 – Philoponella rostralis n. sp. (♂♀) is diagnosed and described from the Kottapara Hills, Western Ghats, Kerala, India. A detailed description of its morphology, diagnostic features, photographs and the depictions of the copulatory organs of both sexes are given.
