Zusammenfassung: | Introduction
Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) is the most common salivary gland malignancy, which mainly affects the major salivary glands. Its prognosis is associated with clinical and histopathological factors.
Aim
This article reports two long‐term evolution cases of MEC.
Case Report
Two cases of MEC in female patients, duration of 8 years (case 1) and 24 years (case 2). Clinical and histopathological features were analysed in order to predict the long‐term survival of patients.
Conclusions
In addition, possible differential diagnoses are discussed, as well as the results of a histochemical and immunohistochemical analysis performed to assist the accurate diagnosis of the two cases. |
