Zusammenfassung: | Magnesium and Titanium alloys were welded by laser-welding brazing technique with Magnesium filler. Uniform and continuous joints were observed over wide range of processing window. A thin layer of Al-Ti IMC layer identified as Ti3Al was observed along the brazed interface. Under optimum joining condition, a maximum tensile shear load of about 1500 W was achieved. The joints fractured at the interface. Analysis of the fracture surfaces showed that reaction products were attached to the Titanium base metal, which prevented the crack propagation and facilitated the joints’ mechanical resistance. |
