Zusammenfassung:	Peculiarities of the effect of AlN and TiN coatings on the stress state of the surface layer of Si 3 N 4 –TiC ceramics under combined load are studied. It was found that TiN coating has a more favorable effect on the stress state of the ceramic structural elements; the AlN coating, on the stress state of the boundary between the coating and ceramic.
