The reaction of NH4Cl with SO3: Two modifications of (NH4)[SO3Cl]
The reaction of NH4Cl with SO3 leads to the chlorosulfate (NH4)[SO3Cl]. Depending on the reaction temperature two different modifications are obtained. At 80 °C the orthorhombic modification (NH4)[SO3Cl]‐I is obtained (Pbca, Z=16, a=1078.03(4), b=911.55(3), c=1915.32(6), Vm=70.85 cm3/mol), at 120 °C...

Zusammenfassung: | The reaction of NH4Cl with SO3 leads to the chlorosulfate (NH4)[SO3Cl]. Depending on the reaction temperature two different modifications are obtained. The observed bonds in the chlorosulfate anion are compared to the few know compounds of this type and to theoretical values based on DFT calculations. |
