Frequency and distribution of ABO and Rhesus (D) blood groups: A tertiary care hospital experience

Aim and Objectives: The present study was conducted to determine the frequency and distribution of ABO and Rh blood groups in blood donors of tertiary health care center. The 95.7% donors were Rh positive and 4.3% were Rh negative [Table 1]. [...]in our study, the blood group O was most common and blood group AB was least common. [...]Rh typing is very crucial in blood donors, blood recipients, and pregnant females. The ischemic heart disease is common in blood group A individuals[28] and the ovarian cancers are common in blood group B.[29] The gastric ulcers are common in blood group O.[30] The O blood group people have less risk for squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma.
