Vernadsky Institute of Geochemistry and Analytical Chemistry: The History of Foundation by Acad. A.P. Vinogradov

— The year 2022 is marked by 75 years of the foundation of Vernadsky Institute of Geochemistry and Analytical Chemistry (GEOKhI), Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union (now Russian Academy of Sciences). The paper shows the prominent role played by Acad. A.P. Vinogradov in establishing this institute and describes historical events in the scientific and international political life that were favorable for the establishment of the institute, major phases of its foundation and further development.
