This article is aimed at studying the influence of a new technology, biomimetic laser shock wave processing, with specimens made of the 2024-T351 aluminum alloy and an analysis of the features of occurring residual stresses. The biomimetic parameters of laser shock wave processing are extracted from cherry leaves. On the basis of the extracted biomimetic parameters, a 3D finite element model has been developed in order to study the influence of biomimetic laser shock wave processing on the distribution of fields of residual stresses. The developed model has been verified. The results demonstrate that processing according to this technology promotes the formation of the so-called sandwich structure of distribution of residual stresses over the depth. It has been demonstrated that the residual stress field is subdivided into three layers: compressed residual stresses are positioned along both surfaces, and the tensile residual stresses are positioned at the center of the specimen. |
