Zusammenfassung: | Under her leadership, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is spearheading the Agenda Towards Transformative Change for Racial Justice and Equality, which provides a roadmap for making concrete positive changes in the lives of Africans and people of African descent. In response to the agenda and a detailed report by OHCHR on systemic racism against Africans and people of African descent, including in law enforcement, the Human Rights Council adopted resolution 47/21 on this issue. [...]in June of 2020, there was an urgent debate in the Human Rights Council on this issue…it was specifically about systemic racism, but also about the link between law enforcement, police brutality, and racial discrimination, and also government responses to peaceful protests. |
