Zusammenfassung: | The influence of root extract of Maranta arundinacea (MA) on mild steel (MS) corrosion in sulphuric acid medium was investigated using gravimetric or weight loss and electrochemical methods. The extent of corrosion protection improved with the MA concentration and diminished at elevated temperature. Polarization measurements explained the nature of the root extract of MA on metal corrosion. Thermodynamic parameters explained the nature of adsorption of MA molecule on the steel surface. It has been observed that the adsorption of MA on the metal surface is abide by Temkin adsorption isotherms. |
