Zusammenfassung: | Struvite stones (magnesium ammonium phosphate stones) is one of the urinary stone. These stones are formed by urease producing microorganisms. Urease produced from the bacteria which hydrolyze the urea into ammonia and leads to struvite stone formation. The study was on to identify the conserved characters of Klebsiella aerogenes urease among different urease producing bacteria causing struvite stones. The sequence analysis was carried out by Clustal Omega and Blast programs. The multiple sequence alignment of Klebsiella aerogenes urease (PDB ID: 1FWH) with other urease sequences of ureolytic bacteria showed more than 75% similarities. Phylogenetic tree analysis showed Pseudomonas species and Klebsiella species which were closely related with Klebsiella aerogenes urease. These studies revealed that most of the characters and catalytic amino acids of bacterium urease were conserved in the Klebsiella aerogenes urease. Hence, the sequence analysis which provides the information of urease mechanism in ureolytic bacteria was similar in the Klebsiella aerogenes. |
